Tamannaah-Bharath to meet fans
Shriya, tantalizing damsel Tamannaah is today considered to be the next top heroine in the prestigious Tamil-Telugu film industries! Beginning her career with the tremendously successful Happy Days (2007), this star has been immensely successful in her recent career history with Kalloori, Padikathavan, Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga and Ayan.
Kanden Kadhalai's music is not bad
Kanden Kadhalai's music is not bad
Jab We Met created a wave of unprecedented popularity among movie-goers for its storyline, characters, and its music as well.
This time around, Moserbaer is attempting to re-create Imtiaz Ali's [ Images ] magic into Tamil as Kandein Kadhalai (I've Found Love), with the music scored by Vidhyasagar, and lyrics by poets Yugabharathi and Na Muthukumar. Here's a look at what the album has to offer:
The first line of Suthudu starts off in an intriguing fashion with a cascade of notes in Hariharan's [ Images ] breezy voice. Thereafter, the pacy song settles into a steady rhythm and by the same token, into mediocrity. It's rather old fashioned, and parts of the charanam remind you of old Ilaiyaraja melodies. The colloquial twang to the lyrics lends some charm and while the nadaswaram piece adds some appeal, it's the flute that's obviously the centre-piece. Not scintillating, but still a pleasant listen.
Catchy beats begin Ododo Poraen, rendered in a sufficiently enthusiastic fashion by Rashmi Vijayan and Lavanya, but in the interlude leading to the charanam. It's the orchestration that snags your attention. An appealing segment, though you wish it had been retained throughout the charanam too. It's a light-hearted romantic number whose lilting melody gets your attention a couple of times but that's pretty much it.
Venpanju is a judicious mix of fast-paced rhythms and melody and though rendered in Udit Nayaran's typically nasal voice with lyrics following set patterns, the beat carries you forward. The interlude before the second charanam, with its almost Japanese overtones is appealing and you can see the effort put in to deviate from the beaten track. An appealing number.
Syrupy flute notes commence Naan Mozhi Arindhaen, a stock romantic number, if ever there was one. With its distinct North Indian flavour, not to mention Suresh Waadkar's accent, this one certainly tries to touch different chords. It's an angsty song and the vocalist's range is certainly refreshing in its execution. Beyond that, perhaps the picturisation will lend more depth.
Kandein Kadhalai is the peppy refrain for this particular rousing number, Oru Naal Iravil -- the first couple of lines borrowed from an old classic -- delivered in dashing fashion by Tippu and Benny Dayal. This one discusses all the charms of the talkative heroine, and is appropriately enthusiastic in its execution. It's meant for dancing your legs off too -- so even if the tune is a familiar one, it still sets you jiving.
When Rahul Nambiyar begins humming his way along Katru Pudithai, you could be forgiven for wondering if you've stumbled on a Kumar Sanu 90's classic but there's where the resemblance ends. This one is a fast-paced song, and the flute interludes blend well, leading swiftly to the charanam. Like most of the previous numbers, set patterns are followed here; slick, well-packaged, but you've heard it all before.
It looks like Vidhyasagar has really tried to produce a set of tunes that veer away from his usual. It works sometimes, at others, the effort seems contrived. Overall, though, the effect isn't too bad. Perhaps the picturisation might introduce new layers to the music. Worth a listen once.
Kanden Kadhalai on wheels
There is no limit when it comes to promoting a movie. Here is another movie that has adopted an innovative way to bring its music to the public, directly.
‘Kanden Kadhalai’ had kick-started a van campaign since its audio release on 14th August. Two exclusive vans are currently touring across Tamil Nadu, interacting with the public. There are two promoters in each van, who ask simple questions on the film and the winners are given the CDs of the film. The campaign is already generating enough excitement among the people! To create hype, the vans are playing the movie’s songs continuously. The van campaign would cover the entire TN and will end on 31st August 2009. So watch out for these vans! Who knows you might be among the lucky ones!
‘Kanden Kadhalai’ will grace the screens in mid-September this year.

Birdies say that this Sindi beauty will be dubbing for ‘Thillalangadi’ by herself. We may be surprised about her bold step but yeah, there is a strong motivation behind her choice.
“When I was working with Suriya for ‘Ayan’, he encouraged me to learn Tamil. He said that I have a sweet voice and it will be a good choice to dub for myself if I learn Tamil soon. He also taught me ten words in Tamil while we were shooting”, says this white beauty. She started to learn Tamil first from an associate director while she was modeling for RMKV silk saree ad. Then on she started to learn the language and she is taking serious Tamil coaching from a trainer, says the sources.
That’s a good step in fact. Well, we might have to wait to see the results in any of her interviews or whenever she speaks in Tamil, here on.

Nagarjuna's nephew Sushant's debut
It is a well known fact that Sushant, another nephew of Nagarjuna, is planning to make his debut as a hero from Akkineni's family. Sushant has just returned from the US and has selected acting as a profession on the lines of some of his family members.
He is being introduced in a film to be produced under the banner of Sainaga Creations and will be presented by Annapurna Studios. Ravi is also making his debut as director with the movie and Tamanna Bhatia of Sri-fame is playing the female lead in the movie. Tamanna also played a role in Happy Days of Shekhar Kammula.

Kanden Kadhalai
Kanden Kadhalai is a romantic comedy entertainer directed by R. Kannan of 'Jayamkondaan' fame. Bharath and Tamanna play the lead roles in the film that is a remake of the 2007 hindi block buster 'Jab We Met'.
Bharath plays Shakthi, the demoralized son of a famous industrialist who is even more broken after attending the marriage of the girl he loved, to another. Feeling ashamed, he walks out of the gathering and aimlessly boards a train. While on board, he meets Anjali (Tamannah) – a beautiful but annoyingly talkative girl who is leaving Chennai to go her hometown – Theni.
Shakthi gets irritated by Anjali and leaves the train at one station. As Anjali tries to bring him back to the train, the train moves on and both are left in a desolate station with no money and luggage. Then they start their journey through buses, taxis and bullock-carts to reach Anjali's house. Meanwhile, due to the presence of the energetic Anjali, Shakthi begins to feel good of life again.
On arrival, her family mistakes them as lovers and welcomes them. Later Anjali runs from her home along with Shakthi to meet and marry her boyfriend in Ooty, leaving her family to think that she has eloped with Shakthi.
Shakthi gets back to Chennai and resurrects his ailing business. One day Anjal's family who think that she is with him confronts Shakthi. He is shocked to learn that Anjali has not returned home. He starts another journey to find her. What all happens when this odd couple meets again forms the rest of the story.

Update on Paiyya
Paiyya, starring Karthi and Tamannaah in the lead, is directed by Lingusamy. The director is back in action after Bheema. The film's shoot has been progressing at breakneck speed in Chennai. Prasad Studios has been seeing a lot of activity as the film is expected to be completed soon. Paiyya, believed to be a romantic comedy with the highways as backdrop, is a thriller and Lingusamy plans to release the film in a few months. He is very confident that Paiyya will hit the bull's eye. He had earlier directed Run, Sandakozhi and Bheema, all of which were very successful at the box office. Paiyya has music by Yuvanshankar Raja and expectations are building up by the day. Another forthcoming film with Karthi in the lead role is Aayirathil Oruvan by director Selvaraghavan.
Karthi talks about Paiyya
Karthi goes from the uncouth rural youth in Paruthiveeran to the utterly sophisticated software professional in his upcoming Paiyya. For several unknown reasons, his actual second movie Aayirathil Oruvan still stays put in the cans, but that has not dampened the aspiring actor's spirits. He is in fact quite high about Paiyya, that has action, comedy and romance intertwined. 'There are many action scenes in Paiyya and I had to practise hard to perform the stunts. I worked on my body language, timing and training. Even though it was an arduous task, I enjoyed the process,' says the actor, who is sweating it out at the gym every single day. About the story, he says, 'Paiyya is a very urbane film. This is the first time I am doing a romantic flick and I am really excited! It is the story of a young man and woman, who are on a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai in a car. I play a jobless software engineer. Shot entirely in a car, the screenplay is extremely interesting and there are many surprises. I am sure it will make for an exciting watch.' We are sure too. In fact, audiences are eagerly awaiting a movie from the young actor who gave an impressive performance in his maiden venture. Just one movie old, Karthi has a formidable fan following already! Karthi's co-star in the movie is Tamannaah, who is fresh from the success of Ayan opposite his brother Suriya. Insiders reveal the two make a fine couple and have struck quite a bond of friendship during the course of filming. 'It was good fun working with her. She is a talented and dedicated artist. As for director Lingusamy, he is an amazing person to work with. He takes good care of all his actors. He is easygoing and doesn't lose his temper at all. But what I like best about him is that he takes life as it comes,' he said.
